THE ALMIGHTY SEVEN !?
Originally, there were seven Gods, who lived in the Heavens and looked down on the mortal realm from their thrones. These Gods created all mortal life, and placed it in the world the elemental lords created, so it would not seem so empty. They meddle very little in the affairs of mortal creatures, and rarely leave their heavenly home; when they do, they never venture outside of the four lands of power.
THE ELEMENTAL LORDS !?
The four elemental lords are the children of the Seven, and are the creators of the world beyond the heavens. They were born in the Heavens, but got bored there; they travelled to the Abyss, the empty space surrounding the Heavens, and leapt into it. In doing so, their powers combined, clashed, and unified, to create the mortal realm. These Gods can move at will between the mortal realm and the Heavens. Two are male, two are female.
THE DIVINE NUMEN !?
The Numen are the Gods that serve the four Lords and the Heavenly Seven; they are weaker than their superiors, but more numerous. Most are the children and grandchilren of the Lords and other Numen Gods, though many came into being in other ways, such as springing fully formed from a lake, or being wished into existence. This is rare, but has happened often enough that there are plenty of Numen Gods. These Gods serve the one or the other of the Lords, and live inside the Holy Lands; they can enter the Heavens only if they have permission from their Lord or the Seven. They are occasionally known to travel the mortal lands.
DISGRACED HALFLINGS !?
On extremely rare occasion, Gods have been known to mate with mortal creatures. On these occasions, the birth of a child is guaranteed, without exception. These children are demigods, half-mortal, half-god creatures that inherit great power. They're often shunned by true mortals, or used and manipulated, and full Gods tend to look down their noses at these halflings.
THE LONELY DEAD !?
When mortals and demigods die, they become spirits, and go to live in Supheria. Spirits vary in abilities and power, even so much as to have completely different abilities from when they were alive. This is because spirits exist by the power of psychic magic, and thus are controlled entirely by their mental faculties. They have even been known to look different than they did when alive, because their appearance and powers are based on what they perceive, rather than what they really were. They can travel to the mortal world, but because of their psychic nature, not all mortals can see them, or be affected by them, and they cannot enter the Holy lands without permission from one of the four Lords.
