THE RUINS OF THE SKY CASTLE The Sky Castle, according to legend, was built by a Numen god for his mortal mistresses, to keep them away from rival males. No existing god will confirm these legends, nor has any in living memory ever met the god from the legend. Even so, it is as popular as the legend of Alanine and Wiyx. The castle stands on a stony, narrow peak, more a spike than a mountain, and it is in a state of great disrepair. Dark and cavernous, with enormous openings everywhere, it is cold, windy, and unwelcoming. It is accessible, though it is unsafe if you haven't the ability to fly, and really, who would want to visit this ruin? |

SANMYAKA MOUNTAINS The Sanmyaka mountain range runs through the heart of Aerys, and down into Aviaria. It is said that these mountains sprouted from the footprints of the air god as s/he ran across the ground after leaping from the Heavens. |

CIEL COEUR PLATEAUX While the majority of Aerys is located in the mountains, it does leak out into the surrounding areas. In particular, the plateaus found at the base of the mountains are popular with Air beasts. High and flat, the plateaus have strong winds blowing over them, and the view is absolutely stunning. On one side are the Sanmyaka mountains, tall and silver and regal, and on the other side are several deep canyons. Thick clouds are constantly decorating the sky above the plateaus and canyons, moved around by the wind, causing deep, shifting shadows across the land. |
